Bill Talks Marketing
We had a lively response to Dave Newton’s comments last week. Michael Burke from Windermere East wrote “I don’t know who this Dave Newton guy is…but he is DEAD ON. Houses all look the same. Appraisers are historians, Realtors are salesmen and bankers have no testosterone, as they say.” On a totally different note, I contemplated this week about Five Things That Bug A Marketing Guy: (1) Poor graphic design. Whatever the budget. Nobody can afford bad design; (2) “Now is a good time to buy” lines. It’s not credible coming from us. Let our intelligent customers come to that conclusion on their own. (3) The word ‘pyschographics.’ (4) “The ad didn’t work.” (5) “We have no marketing budget.” |
La’Cee Looks at Home Prices
Many of the Bigs tell us that the ‘end of 2011’ will start showing a price rebound. Historically low interest rates, shortage of supply, pent-up demand and more are cited as reasons. As the graph shows, Case-Shiller, the Federal Housing Finance Agent, the National Association of Realtors and the Flow of Funds accounts from the Federal Reserve all suggest that we are at least at the bottom. So we’re waiting, because we haven’t seen much of a price increase so far.
