Dave (Dave?) Talks About Real Estate Marketing
My friend and marketing mentor Dave Newton now lives in Yakima, from which he renders forth judgment upon the planet. I asked Dave to give me some thoughts on real estate, from a non-real estate guy’s point of view. By the way, you can follow Dave at www.3rdActs.com. - bill
Memo to Bill: You want me to write about real estate marketing? Now? During the Great American De-Leveraging? That's just nuts. Oh well, I never could say no to you. Marketing? That's product design. Why do all new houses look the same? My mind goes numb seeing rows and rows of identical front porches. Sort of Craftsman, but not really. My advice? Hire architects who know how to design, get a testosterone shot, and create the next trend.

La’Cee Looks at Future Growth
Fiserv Inc., which works with Moody’s Analytics, recently published the cities that will show great growth in the next two years. Top spot? Tacoma. Really. Fiserv claims that residents of Tacoma are in for a 25% price increase by the spring of 2013. Then, Money magazine just published the top 100 best places to live in America (under 50,000 population), based on job opportunities, fiscal strength, top-notch schools, safe streets, cultural and outdoor activities and even nice weather. The Seattle area has three in the top 20.
