Bill Has Designs

Seattle architect icon Stuart Silk was featured last month in The New York Times. Shown is one of his nine villas in the Bending Paths community in Shanghai.  Silk said the form of Bending Paths is unique.  Curving walls define space and emanate like rings from a stone dropped into a pond.  The design is meant to be respectful of Chinese culture by following general Feng Shui principals.  For example, direct views are prevented as each sight line follows the curve of the walls.  No budget was mentioned, but this is not entry level.

La'Cee Looks at the American Dream

Keith Tibbles of Cobalt Mortgage presented the new Yankelovich study of Gen Y (Born mid-70's to Early 2000's) based upon new census numbers.  Interestingly enough, even people who are underwater with their mortgages (the red bar), believe strongly that home ownership is still very important.  People want to own homes, especially new ones!
